Client Counseling Services

Most firms call themselves "Attorneys and Counselors." But it is impossible
to see any difference between the two. The Majorie Firm not
only knows there is a difference, we have devoted a specific area of our
practice to fulfill the counseling role.
The Majorie Firm is retained by clients to counsel them about
a variety of legal and strategic matters.
Our services have ranged from finding lawyers with the
expertise needed to handle a particular matter, to overseeing lawyers who
have already been retained, to providing devil's advocacy and second opinions
about difficult or important decisions.
Some of the roles The Majorie Firm plays include:
- Serving as settlement counsel when strategy
prohibits existing litigation counsel from discussing settlement directly
with the opposition.
- Acting as "consigliere" to CEO's, Presidents,
and other senior managers who need to be able to think through an issue
outside the chain of command.
- Advising managers and general counsel
about how best to structure their legal departments and obtain the most from
their outside counsel.
- Providing "pre-nuptial" advice to businesses
undertaking important transactions so that they are sure to build leverage points
and other protections into the deal structure as they undertake their
negotiations.
- Conducting fraud audits.
- Serving as special counsel to Boards of Directors,
committees, and individual directors.
Our fees for these services vary, depending on the role we play and the
value we add to the mix.
